Patches waits for me to give her her nightly insulin shot before eating! I thought it was a fluke at first, but it has happened many times now. I take her blood glucose reading from her ear, set her on the floor, give her her shot, and then she eats. Last night, I spoke with Dr. G, who's been awesome about keeping me updated about Patches. She said that Patches's glucose curve was looking perfect and they wanted to keep her overnight to make sure her numbers didn't dip too low. They had to figure out how much to adjust the insulin dosage, depending on how Patches's system reacts to it all. ( Read more... )
